The Glenn County Mosquito & Vector Control District (GCMVCD) is dedicated to providing the highest level of service.

Adult Mosquito Control

Adulticides - Chemicals used to control adult mosquitoes are called Adulticides.

Mosquito Fish

The Glenn County Mosquito & Vector Control District (GCMVCD) has four ponds that produce hundreds of pounds of fish each year. The fish are free to Glenn County residents and are available for pick-up at the following locations.

Neglected Swimming Pools can produce thousands of mosquitoes putting you and you family at high risk for West Nile Virus. Please report neglected swimming pools to the Glenn County Mosquito & Vector Control District (GCMVCD). You may remain anonymous.

Public Education & Outreach

The Glenn County Mosquito & Vector Control District (GCMVCD) participates in various community events; Willows Lamb Derby Parade, Glenn County Parade (Orland), Glenn County Fair and National Night Out. The GCMVCD has also given presentations to community civic groups (Willows Rotary, Kiwanis Club).

Surveillance

The Glenn County Mosquito & Vector Control District (GCMVCD) uses many different methods to monitor mosquito populations, and mosquito-borne disease. The GCMVCD's surveillance program is used for locating mosquito populations usually focusing on mosquito breeding sources, monitoring mosquito populations, and mosquito-borne disease.
